NCPEA Mission

To promote and support North Carolina physical education through advocacy, professional development, and education to develop physically educated individuals and support a physically active North Carolina.


Physical Education Regional Workshops

In addition to providing top-quality conference programming at the NC SHAPE annual convention, the North Carolina Physical Education Association (NCPEA) holds Regional Workshops. These events routinely feature the nation's best physical educators and presenters!


Physical Education Association Awards

The NCPEA awards are presented at the NC SHAPE Convention in November! Come and join us as we honor our award winners! We are very proud of them and know you will be too!

Deadline:  The deadline for all NC SHAPE awards is May 1st of the current year.

  • Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year

  • Middle School Physical Education Teacher of the Year

  • High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year

  • College/University Physical Education Teacher of the Year

  • Dance Education Teacher of the Year
    (K-12 not as a subject within a Physical Education program)

  • College/University Dance Education Teacher of the Year

  • Physical Education Distinguished Principal Award

  • Outstanding Physical Education Program Award

  • Physical Education Lifetime Service Award

  • Physical Education Hall of Fame
