Requirements:
- 20+ years of teaching experience in the field of physical education.
- Membership and involvement in the NC SHAPE and the North Carolina Physical Education Association.
- Significant leadership and advocacy in the profession.
Award Criteria:
- Career Longevity & Dedication: Years of service in physical education and continued contribution beyond basic job expectations. Evidence of sustained passion and involvement.
- Impact On Students: Demonstrated positive influence on generations of students. Promotion of lifelong fitness and healthy habits.
- Leadership & Professional Contributions: Leadership roles at school, district, state, or national levels.
- Mentorship & Service to the Profession: Mentoring new or aspiring physical educators. Providing professional development or training.
- Innovation Over a Career: Introduced new programs, curriculum models or initiatives.
Nomination Deadline: April 15 of each year.
Nomination & Application Process: Once the Recognition Committee chair receives the nomination, an email will be sent to the nominee with a link to the application form, where the application document can be uploaded.
Nominee Application Documents: All documents must be submitted in PDF format.
