The 68th Annual NCAAHPERD-SM Convention will be held at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, November 10-12, 2016. This year's theme is "Find A Way." This is related to those who came last year, to "CB&B2", so "Find a Way to Come Back and Bring Two". This year's Bill Russell Memorial keynote will be Dr. Greg Dale, a Professor of Sport Psychology and Sport Ethics at Duke University. With one of the largest memberships in the country, North Carolina AAHPERD-SM provides a unique opportunity to renew and refresh your teaching methods and professional outlook.

Gregory A. Dale is the Director of Sport Psychology and Leadership Program for Duke Athletics. In his sport psychology role, Dale provides consultations for individual athletes, coaches and staff members. In addition, Dale provides team building services for athletic teams and other units within the athletic department. In his leadership role, Dale provides leadership training for athletes, coaches and administrators within the department through various educational programs. He is also a professor of sport psychology and sport ethics in the Department of Health, Wellness and Physical Education. Dale received his BS degree from Stephen F. Austin State University (85), MS Degree from Columbia University (87) and PhD from The University of Tennessee (93). Dale has written four books on leadership, coaching, parenting and performance and serves as a consultant to numerous athletic and corporate organizations around the world.

CEU Information

Thursday .6 CEU's, Friday .6 CEU's, Saturday .3 CEU's

If you attend all three days you can receive 1.5 CEU's

If you attend Thursday and Friday you can receive 1.2 CEU's

If you attend Friday and Saturday .9 CEU's

Literacy and Technology Credits are available as part of your daily CEU's but they are not in addition to your CEU's. For example if you attend 5 literacy sessions, you can receive .5 Literacy CEU's and .1 Healthful Living CEU, to make up a total of .6 CEU's. Please see the program book for a complete list of sessions eligible for literacy and technology.

Please plan on joining us for the Awards Ceremony on Thursday at 4:45 to congratulate all of great award winners this year.

We are doing a virtual race starting in Winston-Salem and going all the way around the state to end back in Winston-Salem to raise money for Convention Scholarships for our members for next year's convention.
