 Join Physical Educators and Leaders from the Carolina's and around the country in and exciting professional development like no other. Great fellowship, exciting new games, and activities as well as great food. 

 This year's presenters will include...

    • Burt Jenkins from DPI
      • DPI update and what is happening in the state as well. 
    • Tommy Hager, coach of the "Apex Skip-Its" jump rope demonstration and Physical Education teacher
      • How to teach jumping rope in a practical way. Also, develop confidence in your jumpers and see them do amazing things with the tools that will be taught to you in two power jump sessions!
        • 1st Session: Single rope & partner jumping w/performance
        • 2nd Session: Long rope & Double Dutch w/performance 
    • Chris Walker, Physical Education teacher, and NCPEA President 
    • Ben Landers
      • Gamify your PhysEd Program
        • In this session, we will discuss some ways to Gamify your Physical Education program.  You will come away with ideas on how to repurpose games and activities to make them more engaging for students.  We will also get into some Gamified Frisbee Activities to give you a practical example of what a Gamified Lesson might look like. 
    • Mike Lally
      • Content Integration
        • This session will provide ways for you teach your classroom teachers strategies for increasing movement in the classroom. Wait until you see the teachers face when they realize their students are getting more physical activity, are extremely engaged while still covering their standards. This is a great way to build professional relationships and build respect for you and your physical education program. Planning the lesson, materials used and sample lessons will all be provided.

NCAAHPERD-SM is proud to host the PELT at the Blue Ridge Assembly, in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Nestled in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Comfortable lounge areas and delicious home cooked meals, provide the perfect environment for stimulating fellowship with other North Carolina educators.

This retreat is worth 1.3 CEU's. 

Registration Information

There are four different room options; single, double, triple and quad. If you choose a single room, you will be the only occupant in the room. When choosing a double, triple or quad room you will be sharing the room with other attendees. You may pick your own roommates or we can assign them. These rates are per person not per room; each person must register and pay.  

There are scholarships available for undergraduate students to cover the cost of their registration fees. Apply here. 

Each price increases $20 on February 27, 2017.
