Award Criteria: Award recipients must reflect professional dedication towards attaining and maintaining the knowledge and skills needed to provide optimum athletic education for their coaches and student-athletes. Additionally, NCAAE award recipients must demonstrate ongoing professional development and the enhancement of leadership skills for athletic education.

Membership in the NCAAE and NC SHAPE is not required of Athletic Director of the Year honorees.

Nominator Responsibilities: The nominator is responsible for submitting all materials before the submission deadline.

Nomination Deadline: May 1 of each year.
