2024 Female Coach of the Year

Award Background: Two high school coaches will be recognized annually. One for the Female High School Coach of the Year and one for the Male High School Coach of the Year.

Award Criteria: Award recipients must demonstrate a high understanding and appreciation for continuing education for coaching. Additionally, recipients must show dedication to attaining ongoing professional development and enhancing leadership skills.

• Coaches must be a member of NC SHAPE and NCAAE when nominated and receiving the award.
• Must have coached during the present school year.
• Demonstrates dedication to attaining and maintaining the knowledge and skills to provide optimum athletic education for their students
• Has gone above and beyond the call of their duties for their team, sport, and career.
• Evidence exists of tremendous character, ethics, leadership, teaching/coaching skills, and rapport within their district.
• Has a reputation, among their peers and the athletic community, for fair play, good sportsmanship, and the development of these attributes in their student-athletes.
• Exemplifies passion and leadership locally and statewide for the promotion of coach education.

Nominator Responsibilities: The nominator is responsible for submitting all materials before the submission deadline.

Nomination Deadline: May 1 of each year.
